The Skills Shift Roundtable

29th August 2024

The Chamber hosted The Skills Shift Roundtable, where we explored workforce transformation and disruption. An engaging conversation on how education providers, industry, and government can collaborate to address the challenges of major workforce shifts.

Led by Mish Eastman, Deputy Vice Chancellor Vocational Education, and Robbie van Dijk, Director Governance & Strategic Initiatives at RMIT University, the session delved into the key challenges and innovative approaches around skills shortages, retaining talent, and bridging the gap between education and industry.

Joined by a diverse group of senior leaders from EY, Robert Walters, Telstra, Shelton’s, The Actionable Futurist, MHA, BMD Infrastructure Services, and the Victorian Government - who discussed their ideas and approaches for tackling these challenges.

The session was opened by the Australian Deputy High Commissioner to the UK, Elisabeth Bowes PSM, who discussed the key provisions in the Australia-UK Free Trade Agreement that focused on areas such as qualification recognition and mobility.

Our thanks to RMIT Europe for sponsoring this important discussion.
