Aurora Education Foundation

23rd October 2024

The Australia-United Kingdom Chamber of Commerce in partnership with IFM Investors and the Australian High Commission proudly hosted the Aurora Education Foundation Reception at Australia House, showcasing 15 years of the transformative program for Indigenous Australian students.

Opening remarks were delivered by the Hon. Stephen Smith, Australian High Commissioner to the UK, and Amanda Latham from IFM Investors.

Leila Smith, the CEO of Aurora Education Foundation, in conversation with Tamara Murdock, their Deputy CEO shared insights on the Foundation and its impact on the journey of Indigenous students and the importance of educational pathways leading to leadership roles.

Since its inception, the Aurora Education Foundation has made significant strides in increasing access to higher education for First Nations Australians. With 48 students now holding postgraduate degrees from Oxford and Cambridge, and many more at leading UK universities, the impact of their scholarships is profound.

We look forward to continuing our partnership with Aurora Education Foundation and supporting the next generation of Indigenous leaders in their academic and professional pursuits.
