The Australia—United Kingdom Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with our Members National Australia Bank and the New South Wales Government, is delighted to launch our first Business Insight Report: Purpose-Driven Profit. This Report examines how corporate purpose, responsible investment and thoughtful policymaking are driving an increasing focus by Australian and British organisations on ESG.
Since COVID-19, a new driver has entered the conversation with increasing urgency — the historically overlooked ‘S’ in ESG and the need for corporates to deliver on a social agenda alongside an environmental one. COVID-19 has exposed and amplified social issues of racial,
economic and gendered inequality through its disproportionate effects on vulnerable groups.
With the 26th UN Climate Change Conference of the Parties due to be held in Glasgow later this year,
it’s timely that the Chamber’s Impact series should culminate with our third report on how businesses in
both the UK and Australia are driving sustainability. COP26 is anticipated to be the most significant climate event since the 2015 Paris Agreement, setting the direction, decisive or otherwise, for tackling the
climate crisis in the critical decade ahead to 2030.
This series focuses on how key industries in Australia and the UK are using the COVID recovery as a chance to build more sustainable, resilient business models which integrate the lessons of the last 18 months whilst navigating the ongoing challenges of the new normal.
It is a privilege to be able to share with you the launch of our second Rethink, Reset 2021 report, ‘The Road to Net Zero.’ Following the success of the first report in our Rethink, Reset series, ‘Building Back Better in Infrastructure’, we continue to explore how industries in Australia and the UK are rethinking and resetting the road ahead to create sustainable and creditable outcomes for the good of business and the environment.
We are delighted to be sharing the launch of our first Leadership Perspectives Report in partnership with Informed Solutions, ‘On Resilience: In Conversation with Leaders on How to Survive and Thrive in Crisis.’
Bringing together voices from leaders across industries, the report provides a personal and unique insight into how leadership requires personal resilience and the ability to adapt.
