Daniel Bense is the Founder and Director of Metonymy, a new accelerator-style company for emerging consumer brands. Metonymy works with highly ambitious and creative founders, as partners in unlocking new phases of growth. At present, Metonymy is working with international brands including Desmond & Dempsey, Blackcrows Skis, Fred Rigby Studios, L’Estrange London and Egg, as well as a series of start-up founders and larger development partners.
Before founding Metonymy in 2020, Daniel was Aesop’s Head of Commercial, Europe. With 11 years of Commercial Lead expertise, he has a demonstrated history of nurturing and growing a brand, culture and team. Daniel is skilled in Retail, Digital Strategy, Business Planning, Commercial Strategy, Multi-channel Sales Models, New Market Entry and the UK market in particular.
Stacia Prince, International Buying Director, Cult Beauty
Stacia Prince has been in Beauty Buying for 30 years, covering many retail channels.
She joined Cult Beauty in 2008 within months of its’ launch and has been thrilled to introduce many wonderful brands to the company. Cult Beauty has been the UK launchpad for some indie brands that are now global names including Anastasia Beverly Hills, Drunk Elephant, Huda Beauty. Their mission is to be the most trusted beauty retailer in the world- the ethos they still live by.
Meg Gordon, CEO & Founder, Beached
Former banker turned beauty buff, Meg’s Aussie roots and passion for the environment inspired her to create a new type of beauty brand – Beached. Beached is on a mission to reduce excessive beauty consumption by encouraging women to buy less and buy well, with a simple range of natural, multi-purpose products that make getting ready a breeze. Prior to launching Beached, Meg spent over eight years in the corporate world, most recently leading communications for Barclaycard UK.
