The Big Picture | 2020: the Year Ahead

In the wake of a reinstated conservative Government and renewed hope that a Brexit deal will soon be done, the new year will bring a raft of business opportunities and challenges. Joining the panel of experts in the Chamber’s first Big Picture event of 2020 is Newstores’ Managing Director, John Ryan. John will discuss the consumer confidence outlook for 2020, the changing face of the high street and priorities for the retail sector in the year ahead.

With the US-China trade war, ongoing certainty around implementation of Brexit and an increasing imperative to respond to the climate challenge, the operating environment for businesses is tougher than ever. Yet with rapid innovations in technology and open access to data, businesses have unprecedented insight into client and customer needs. With an increasing appetite for corporate activism, those who stay at the forefront of market trends and respond to consumer sentiment will be best placed to respond to new challenges in the year ahead.

Our experts will help you separate the hype from reality, sharing their analysis and forecast for the economy and marketplace in 2020 with insights on expected economic trends, geopolitical risk and opportunity, the influence of technology and the evolving requirements of both consumers and businesses.
