We were honoured to have Senator the Hon Simon Birmingham, Australian Minister for Trade, Tourism & Investment, and the Rt Hon Elizabeth Truss MP, UK Secretary of State for International Trade address our community following the launch of negotiations for an Australia-UK Free Trade Agreement (FTA).
In conversation with Dame Carolyn Fairbairn, Director General for the CBI, Minister Birmingham and Secretary of State Truss professed their respective government's commitment to negotiating an ambitious and modern FTA that will set the standard for trade deals to follow. The FTA will provide opportunities for business in digital trade, e-commerce and the exchange of premium goods as well as a chapter dedicated to SMEs.
